Annex: The publication was originally published in “Allt om Vin” (Everything about wine) and was then republished in other Swedish magazines (dailies and tabloids Svenska Dagbladet, Dagens Nyheter, Dagens Industri). All wine writers that have participated in this assortment "own" the results of the voting mutually. Nearly all participants are members of the “wine writers association”. However, not all, which is why they don’t say it is the “federation of wine writers” that decides.
All wines launched must be available at the Monopoly. Therefore, the list of wines is very large. There is no pre-selection process done they just discuss the wines and then place votes. Of course the wines having had good sales are in focus more than others but the list which features "wines that we would have liked to see more of" discusses the wines which were not relisted due to volume or tender.
The list has effects on the market sales of wines the three wines listed Gold Silver and Bronze get added sales according to importers. How much though is hard to say. The listing has been done in various formats at least the past 7 years. It was reported on Georg Breuer Riesling Sauvage when it was named as second best white wine overall in 2006 (actually the same year Riesling was voted best grape) this release with link is attached below.
