From May 1 to May 29, followers of the @germanwineca Twitter handle are invited to publicly express their desire to dine with Queen Julia in less than 140 characters, using the hashtag #GermanWineQueen
A winning tweet will be selected on May 29th and the private dinner for the winner and the Queen will take place on Friday, May 31st at the prestigious TOCA, at the Ritz-Carlton, Toronto.
"For wine lovers, spending time with Queen Julia is really the ultimate experience," explains Ulrike Lenhardt of the German Wine Institute. "Having access to such a knowledgeable, not to mention personable, wine ambassador and expert really allows for a deeper understanding of what makes the wines they love so special. I’m delighted that Queen Julia has made herself so available during her visit to Canada."
The contest coincides with the German Wine Queen’s first official visit to Canada and the 21st Riesling & Co. World Tour event in Toronto, which culminates on May 28 with a consumer tasting event at the Arcadian Loft in downtown Toronto.
The event, the largest forum for German wines in Canada, features samplings from among more than 100 German wines, delicious food pairings and a gathering of hundreds of Canadian wine professionals to taste and discuss the latest trends concerning German wine. Queen Julia will be hosting the event, greeting and introducing guests to both the wines and winemakers from Germany who have travelled to Toronto for this incredible event.
