German Sekt impresses at Bubble Wonderland in Hong Kong

From March 19 to April 18, Cru Media organized a pop-up store for sparkling wines from all over the world in the fashionable shopping arcade Fashion Walk - Ashley. Of course, German sparkling wine was there! Tersina Shieh, who organizes the Riesling Weeks in Hong Kong every year, coordinated the inclusion of German wines and sparkling wines through the local importers.

The interested customers could not only get to know the world of "bubbles" through workshops, they were also served cocktails and Western snacks, and enjoyed a photo exhibition and complimentary lifestyle products. As part of the varied program, brave Hong Kong residents were able to demonstrate their saber skills, theatrically opening the bottles.

German sparkling wines (Sekt) are still largely unknown in Hong Kong and are rarely available locally. The visitors found it particularly exciting to taste Riesling as a still wine and also as a sparkling variant. Most were surprised by the excellent quality.

Various importers took turns manning the German stand on the weekends, offering 17 different German sekts.

With sales totalling 241 bottles valued at HKD 78,000, Germany ranked third in popularity after France and South Africa.

Importantly, the visitors also found out where German wines can be purchased in Hong Kong, so they can continue with their newfound passion:

The campaign was actively covered on social networks:
