German wine enjoyed across the world

The Federal Foreign Office serves wines from Germany at numerous receptions, banquets, dinners or other events across the globe. A recommended list of 25 wines drawn up jointly by the Federal Foreign Office and Wines of Germany now makes it easier for missions abroad to determine which wine to choose.


A total of 385 wines took part in the selection process. 39 wines made it into the finale which was held at the German Federal Foreign Office. At the end 25 wines and sparkling wines were included in the official wine recommendation list which is now being sent to all German missions abroad.

In order to support staff members in choosing wine from the list, they will not only be given the mere list of wines but also recommendations on which food goes well with each wine.

The 25 listed wines recommended to be served by German diplomatic missions are:
