Mundus Vini Nordic: German wines for "Nordic palate"
The aim was to honor the most outstanding wines in eleven categories that are perfectly attuned to the taste and expectations of the "Nordic palate". In addition, the competition is an ideal platform for wine producers who want to export and establish their products in Scandinavia.
The "Nordic palate" loves German wine
The winners of each category will be published until September. They then will present their wines at an event in Copenhagen. The awarded wines will also be integrated in the marketing activities of the DWI in Scandinavia. After all, Scandinavia is the second most important export market for German wines after the USA - and the trend is rising. Compared to 2017, the value of German wine exports increased in all four countries in 2018: 5.8% in Norway, 4.7% in Sweden, 6.3% in Finland and 17.9% in Denmark.
DWI Managing Director Monika Reule was very pleased with the good response from the hiring companies on the one hand and the Scandinavian jurors on the other: "Our wines are simply perfect partners for modern Nordic cuisine. Added to this are the geographical, social and cultural proximity as well as the fact that German products enjoy a high reputation overall in Scandinavia."
