Schloss Johannisberg and Dr. Loosen among top 50 wine destinations worldwide
The list of “The world's top wine tourism destinations”, which has been changed to 17 positions compared to the previous year, recommends visits to 50 wineries in 18 countries.
The Fürst (Prince) of Metternich-Winneburg’s domain at Schloss Johannisberg in the Rheingau holds position 12 of the list of recommendations. Here, according to the jury, you can enjoy some of the most profound and storable Rieslings worldwide. In addition, the breathtaking views of the wine-growing region inspired the jury.
Jury praises steep slope viticulture and wines
The Dr. Loosen scores at position 15. The jury praised the steep slope wines as some of the finest Mosel Rieslings that can be bought for money. The Mosel and the beautiful town of Bernkastel-Kues were also worth a visit, the international jury stated.
Last year, in addition to the two wineries mentioned, Schloss Vollrads was also among the top 50.
