Singapore: Germany achieves "Red Wine of the Year" Award

Some 31 importers submitted a wide range of wines from 13 countries to take part in Singaporean 'The Peak Selections: Gourmet & Travel' Competition called "G top 100". Among these exquisite wines, the judges singled out six outstanding labels. "Red Wine of The Year" is Rudolf Furst Winery with Centgrafenberg Pinot Noir 2013.

It scored a grade as high as 18 points based on a 20-point scoring system.  The top scoring wines were selected after being blind-tasted by a judging panel, consisting of 11 renowned wine experts including oenologist Edwin Soon, veteran wine connoisseur Tan Kah Hin, and Tan Ying Hsien, the first Singaporean to qualify as Master of Wine.

'The Peak Selections: Gourmet & Travel' held the awards ceremony at the Sheraton Towers Grand Ballroom. This is the seventh year Gourmet & Travel has put out a definitive and authoritative list of the best of the best 100 wines in Singapur. The organizer felt honoured to have the company of His Excellency, Dr Michael Witter (Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany) and His Excellency Miguel Navarro (Embassy of the Kingdom of Spain) to join us for the unveiling of the winning wines.More: G Top 100
