Vinexpo Paris: Enthused visitors at Germany's stand
After a year of hiatus due to the pandemic, this was the first major industry gathering of the year. Both exhibitors and trade visitors were enthusiastic about the opportunity to taste "live" and to maintain personal contact with each other.
Tasting counter at the BMEL/DWI joint stand
Wines of Germany was represented at the fair with a tasting counter and numerous seminars as well as four German exhibitors at the BMEL (Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture) stand. The Riffel winery from Rheinhessen and the Baden winery Martin Waßmer, the Weinhaus Schlinnk and the Deutsches Weintor cooperative showed a wide range of German red, white, rosé and sparkling wines; many varieties beyond Riesling and Pinot Noir.
Journalists, sommeliers, restaurateurs and importers
Experts from more than 23 countries visited the German pavilion and the German exhibitors in the first two days. The DWI employees were supported at the tasting counter by Sina Erdrich, German Wine Queen. Marc Almert, the current world champion sommelier, was also available for an individual tasting at lunchtime on Tuesday 15 February.
The exhibitors Caroline and Erik Riffel were very satisfied with the contacts that were made at the trade fair. The German wine area was in hall 5/2, stand no. FG 024. Selection of seminars at the booth:
