"Drink Pink!" - The German Wine Institute's theme for ProWein

At this year's ProWein trade fair, the German Wine Institute (DWI) is focusing on excellent still and sparkling rosé wines in line with the slogan "Drink Pink!"

20 different rosé wines, selected by an expert jury from over 160 samples, will be available for free tasting throughout the day from May 15th to 17th at the DWI stand in Hall 1 (E120). The rosé sparkling wines will also be presented in detail in a moderated tasting on each day of the fair.

Awards for best rosé wines

The three best-placed winning wines and sparkling wines were awarded on Sunday, May 15, 2022, at the DWI-ProWein stand in Hall 1 E120 in the presence of international press.

Strong growth rates for Germany's rosés

DWI Managing Director Monika Reule sees great potential for rosé wines from German origins, especially on the international markets. “This year we are presenting excellent rosé wines and sparkling wines to the ProWein trade audience from all over the world, because this type of wine is enjoying growing popularity in almost all of our important export markets. With the new, internationally competitive style of German rosés, we see good opportunities to benefit from this trend. Germany is the fifth largest rosé producer in the world and accounts for four percent of the global rosé wine market,” says Reule.

Germany's Wine Ambassadors Sina Erdrich, Linda Trarbach and Saskia Teucke will alternately moderate the events.
