Mondial des Pinots: Eleven German Pinots awarded Gold
Wine producers from Baden in particular, took advantage of the international competition and almost half of the gold medals went to wines from that region. The most successful German entrant however, with three gold medals was Geils Sekt and Weingut from Dalsheim in Rhineland-Hessen with their Dalsheimer Bürgel 2016 and 2017 Pinot Noirs and Pinot Noir "S".
Many cooperatives among the award-winners
The cooperative from Baden, Winzergenossenschaft Jechtingen-Amoltern am Kaiserstuhl eG, achieved two golds – one for their Pinot Noir: Jechtinger Eichert Spätburgunder Rotwein Spätlese dry Burg Sponeck Selektion 2018 and the other for their Pinot Gris: Jechtinger Eichert Grauer Burgunder Spätlese dry 2019.
Winzerkeller Hex vom Dasenstein eG (Baden) also won two gold medals - one for their Pinot Noir: Villa Heynburg Spätburgunder Reserve 2018 and the other for their Pinot Blanc: Weißburgunder Heidenhöfe Großes Gewächs 2019. Another Baden wine cooperative, Bötzingen eG, received gold for their Pinot Blanc Eiswein Barrique 2016.
Gold medals were also awarded to Felsengartenkellerei Besigheim eG (Württemberg) with their Pinot Blanc: Terra S Weißburgunder 2019, the Wein- und Sektgut Wilhelmshof (Pfalz) with their Pinot Noir: Im Sonnenschein Alte Reben Wilhelm Spätlese dry 2018, and the Fritz Allendorf winery (Rheingau) with their Quercus 2016 which had already been awarded the Best German Pinot Noir at Mundus Vini 2020.
