Mundus Vini Biofach wine awards: 31 German wines awarded

For the twelfth time, the Great International Wine Prize Mundus Vini and the world's leading trade fair Biofach, organized the Great International Organic Wine Prize Mundus Vini Biofach. Almost 500 wines were submitted. In Neustadt an der Weinstrasse, an expert jury awarded a total of 199 organic wines with gold and silver, including 31 organic wines from Germany.


The 2019 Dürkheimer Spielberg Chardonnay from the Weingut Fitz-Ritter (Pfalz) was named "Best Organic White Wine Germany", the 2018 Red Opium Edition Papillon Premium was named "Best Organic Red Wine Germany" and the 2019 Haardter Herzog Riesling trocken Edition Papillon Premium was named "Best Organic Riesling" , both from the Weingut Gerhard Schwarztraub, also in the Pfalz.

The following German organic wines were also awarded a Gold medal:

2020 Grauburgunder Pfalz trocken Peter Riegel Weinimport GmbH, Orsingen

2019 Gewürzschlawiner Cuvée Natür 51 Winzerhof Linder, Endingen

2020 Rosé Pfalz trocken Peter Riegel Weinimport GmbH, Orsingen

2019 Dürkheimer Abtsfronhof Gewürztraminer Spätlese Sektkellerei Fitz KG, Bad Dürkheim

2020 Sauvignon Blanc trocken Weingut Gerhard Schwarztrauber, Neustadt

2019 Michelsberg Riesling GG Sektkellerei Fitz KG, Bad Dürkheim.
