Originally, the event was planned for the end of May with German wine representatives and their Japanese importers present. However, due to the travel restrictions, the table presentation took place with the 16 importers onsite and the German contingent online.

The team from Wines of Germany Japan came up with an alternative opportunity for the companies seeking an importer: the wines were offered for tasting to trade visitors by Japanese sommeliers, and videos from the wine producers could be viewed to get a 'virtual' personal impression from the vintners themselves.

If interested, individual conversations via video conference were then held by Wines of Germany Japan in a subsequent matchmaking process enabling potential business partners to contact each other.
