Schwarztrauber Winery wins the best collection at The Grand International Organic Wine Award MUNDUS VINI BIOFACH

At the 11th Grand International Wine Award MUNDUS VINI Biofach, the Palatinate winery Schwarztrauber from Neustadt took first place among German organic wine producers, as it had done in several previous competitions. 14 German organic wines received a gold medal and 21 a silver medal.


The best producers of organic wine were honored at the Biofach trade fair in Nuremberg this weekend. The Schwarztrauber winery received three gold medals for its submitted wines, as did the Schlossgut Hohenbeilstein from Württemberg and the Zähringer Winery from Baden. Dr. Wehrheim and Heinz Pfaffmann from the Palatinate won two gold medals each, and Weingut Frank Brohl from the Mosel also won a gold medal.

The "Best Organic Red Wine Germany 2020" award went to the Schlossgut Hohenbeilstein, Beilstein, for their 2016 Spätburgunder GG dry VDP.GROSSE LAGE. The tasters awarded the “Best Organic Riesling 2020” to the Dr. Wehrheim winery from Birkweiler for their 2018 Kastanienbusch Köppel Riesling GG VDP.GROSSE LAGE and the “Best Organic White Wine 2020” to the Zähringer winery, Heitersheim for their 2017 Orange Weißburgunder.
