The Berlinale's Managing Director Mariette Rissenbeek (right) and the Festival's Artistic Director Carlo Chatrian (left) were enthusiastic about the qualities of the selected wines and sparkling wine collection. Both thanked The German Weininstitut's team for the continuation of the successful cooperation in organising blind tastings and selecting the wines. 17 first-class white and red wines as well as four high-quality sparkling wines are now available for guests and film stars from all over the world. This time, The Berlinale management was supported in the selection of wines by the German Wine Princess Saskia Teucke, DWI Marketing Manager Steffen Schindler and other wine experts.

Film culture meets wine culture

"With our involvement in the context of the Berlinale, we want to build a bridge between film culture and German wine culture, which many - especially international - filmmakers are not yet familiar with," explained DWI Managing Director Monika Reule.

Cooperation with Berlinale wine retailors

As part of the Berlinale cooperation, the DWI will again cooperate with wine retailers in the capital in 2022: Upon presentation of their admission ticket, visitors to the festival will receive a discount on the purchase of a Berlinale wine package with three bottles of wine from the German growing areas at selected retailers.
