Under the banner “Best of the Best – Medal-winning wines of Germany” (wine card, pdf), some 20 top wines will be available to the trade for open tasting and presented in a series of guided tastings at the tasting bar in Hall 13 (stand A90).

“Our aim at this year´s fair is to demonstrate the outstanding quality that German producers are capable of achieving and by doing so underline once again the international competitiveness of wines from Germany´s wine regions”, explains Monika Reule, managing director of the German Wine Institute.

Further fascinating events will be hosted by the German Wine Institute at the ProWein Forum in Hall 13 on the fair Sunday and Monday (both at 12:30 h). Every year at ProWein, the German Wine Institute provides the many wine merchants, retailers and sommeliers from all over the world with information on the latest trends and novelties from the German wine regions. “Orange Hour” is an information event organized specifically for Dutch trade visitors on the fair Sunday.

Moreover, on 14 March at 10:30 h, the DWI will be announcing the winners of the joint competition organized by the DWI and Original SELTERS entitled, “Ausgezeichnete Weingastronomie” (Excellent Wine Gastronomy).
