Last year, the German vineyard area planted with Grauburgunder (Pinot Gris) grew by 5.3 percent – the largest increase recorded among all grape varieties. In all, the area devoted to this grape has reached 5,627 hectares (13,904 acres), or twice the size it was in 2000.

The German Wine Institute (DWI) presents its’ main pages germanwines.de /deutscheweine.de in a new more emotional and modern design. Some 22.000 pages with videos, images and informative texts were restructured in a horizontal fly-out navigation. Furthermore, winelovers can reach the site much quicker now.

In Germany, consumers have clearly changed their habits of buying wine in recent years.
