Riesling & Co. Tokyo: Japanese pro's enjoyed 'Wines of Germany'

Some 300 wine professionals queued at Palace Hotel in Tokyo to taste mainly dry 'Wines of Germany' from 21 exhibitors. The German Wine Institute's Japan-office offered seminars for 80 guests, a press tasting of wines from 'Generation Riesling' newcomers and an importers meeting in the evening hours.

Interactive map of Germany’s wine growing regions launched

Wines of Germany jointly with the respective regional authorities developed a digital map of Germany's wine growing regions. The map features the individual vineyard sites "Einzellagen" of ten German wine growing regions, which can be viewed down to the level of each parcel.

German winegrowers plant more white varieties

Following a period of steady growth until 2006, the vineyard area of red grapes in Germany has since recorded a slight downward trend. As the German Wine Institute (DWI) announced on the basis of figures from the Federal Statistical Office, in the period up to 2015 the area devoted to white grapes rose again by approximately 2,700 ha to 67,074 ha.

Wines of Germany announces another five new "Riesling Fellows"

The Riesling Fellowship was proud to be joined last night by top German Riesling producers and members of the Asian trade for a gala dinner at Renaissance Harbour View Hotel in Hong Kong. The evening, organised on the occasion of the German pavilion at Vinexpo Asia Pacific 2016 saw the announcement of five new members to the Riesling Fellowship.
