Barrier-free travel in the Pfalz

Pfalz Tourism has a new brochure “The Pfalz. Comfortable and individual” listing over 110 authorized barrier-free businesses, excursion destinations, points of interest and other offers. Most of them are located on the German Wine Route. The brochure is only in the German language at this stage, but its listings are still helpful.

The "Travel for All" initiative was to adopt guidelines for accessible travel, and to test and identify appropriate services. Guided Wine Tours include "Wine trip through the wine world of Maikammer", "Deidesheim at your fingertips"- a tour for the blind and visually impaired, or a ‘slow’ city tour "Deidesheim – Easy access to customs, history and wine culture."

Verified barrier-free accommodation can be found along the wine route for Deidesheim, Edenkoben, Edesheim St. Martin, Landau, Klingenmünster and Schweigen -Rechtenbach.

In the "Food & Drinks" section, Ungstein's Winzer eG Herrenberg-Honigsäckel, Deidesheim's von Winning winery and the Deidesheim wine association, Maikammer's Cuveé wine restaurant and winery, the wellness hotel Alte Rebschule in Rhodt and St. Martin’s Haus am Weinberg and Wein & Sekthaus Alois Kiefer are all highly recommended.
