"In vino veritas" is the name of a tour offered by Ahr Valley Tourism that centres around a myth concerning the historic old town of Ahrweiler. The tour for 15 or more people through the town includes a tasting of three Ahr wines.
Baden
Baden has had the “Baden Wine Experience Guide” since 2014, which guides you competently through the diverse regions of Baden and offers a wide range of wine experiences. Hikes including wine tasting in the vineyards are some of the most popular offers. Individuals as well as tourist offices, hotels and, increasingly, companies book the qualified guides for wine tastings, cellar visits and vineyard tours.
The guides offer insights into the culture and natural landscape of the wine region, tours of historic villages, walks through ravines, along exposed vineyard terraces, and insights to viticulture on volcanic weathered soils.

Franken
Since 1997, the “Franken Wine Experience” tour guides have been a very important pillar of the wine tourism concept “Franconia - Wine. Beautiful.Land!” With just over 6,300 tours a year and around 120,000 participants, the Franconian wine experience guides have reached an impressively high level. 250 of the 297 trained “Weinerlebnis Franken” tour guides are organized in a club of the same name.
Guests have the opportunity to get to know the diverse range of offers for free as part of the Wine Experience Days that take place every year at the beginning of August. There are also some regularly recurring events. In the season e.g. a guided tour takes place every Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Volkacher Mainschleife. From May to October there is also a public guided tour of the famous Würzburger Stein vineyard every Saturday at 3 p.m. Guided tours on the theme of "Architecture & Wine" as well as "Walking Tastings" and individual programs for small groups are very popular. Further training of the tour guides has been developed to certify as a lecturer for wine and culinary culture. There are now 45 Wine lecturers who offer well-informed wine seminars, both inside and outside the region.
“Franken Wine Experience” tour guides
Mittelrhein
On the Middle Rhine, a group of certified World Heritage tour guides and certified Nature and Landscape guides offer tours themed on wine. The Middle Rhine is one of the most fascinating landscapes in Germany, the upper Middle Rhine Valley is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The program of the tour guides is called "On the Heritage Trail - along the Middle Rhine". Interesting for wine lovers is a guided tour of the historic Ehrenbreitstein fortress with a wine tasting in the vineyards or a tour of the sparkling wine history of Koblenz with a visit to a sparkling wine cellar.

Mosel
Visitors to the Mosel, Saar and Ruwer can now rely on around 100 Culture and Wine Ambassadors to share their knowledge of the 2,000 year-old wine culture dating back to the Romans. Almost every wine town between Koblenz and Perl now has a certified tour guide who can competently discuss local wines, vintners and the many historic vineyard sites. Guests will appreciate the personal contact with the winemaker at a tasting to complete the tour.

More than 70 Nahe Culture and Wine Ambassadors inspire their visitors to discover their beloved region and the wines produced there. The program includes wine hikes, tours of terroir and viticulture history, tours of historical towns with cultural significance and wine-culinary tastings from cheese to chocolate. Public tours are offered from March to October.

Pfalz
One can compare the 70 Culture and Wine Ambassadors of the Pfalz with the diversity of grape varieties grown in the region. They are a heterogeneous group with diverse life and professional biographies, varied in temperament and personality. They know their home like the back of their hand, as they do the plethora of local wines.
Cultural or scenic tours combined with a small wine tasting are the most popular with visitors, and alongside the tours of the many wine villages, excursions into the vineyards are often requested. You can be assured that at least one glass of Pfalz wine is included in every tour with an ambassador. Special highlights are the themed wine tastings and sensory evaluation seminars. The Cultural and Wine Ambassadors are quickly booked up, especially in spring and autumn so best to plan ahead.

Rheingau
Guest companions or Wine and Cultural Ambassadors for wine tours through the Rheingau are plentiful and can be found online at the addresses given here. These experienced guides, who are trained in wine and culture, offer, for example, entertaining wine hikes (Weck, Worscht un Woi – Wine, Sausages and Bread rolls), professional wine tastings and seminars or tours of the wine towns along the Rhine.

Rheinhessen
Rheinhessen's Culture and Wine Ambassadors were awarded the international “Best of Wine Tourism” award in 2009. The enthusiastic association of ambassadors has more than 100 members. A comprehensive flyer provides information about the year-round offerings, including guided tours such as "Wednesdays 6pm" and "Saturdays 3pm in Rheinhessen" or the "Rheinhessische Landpartie", a bus tour. The last Sunday in March has now established itself as a day of Culture and Wine Ambassadors with tours offered throughout Rheinhessen. "Our strength lies in our enthusiasm for the region", say the interest group’s members.

Since 2014, certified wine tour guides have been trained in Sachsen with the Sächsisches Elbland e.V. The training ensures a high level of expertise and a comparable quality standard for guided wine hikes across the region.

Wine experience guides offer tours on the Saale-Unstrut wine route with stopovers at winemakers, wine and sparkling wine tastings, guided tours of vineyards and other variations.
Württemberg
The first wine experience guides were trained in Württemberg in 2008. Since then they have developed and organized customised tours according to the wishes of visitors - from wine-related adventures, tastings, guided tours of vineyards and cellars, wine seminars, events, bus tours and explorations spanning several days. The diverse offerings are designed to make a stay in the Württemberg wine-growing region an unforgettable experience.
